New Quattroruote - The October issue is on sale - VIDEO

Driving tests and impressions. The protagonist of the October cover is the Mazda CX-30: an extensive road test is dedicated to the new generation of the crossover. The BMW 1 SeriesL’Audi A4 Avantthe Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan and CLA (protagonists of a comparison), the Hyundai Kona hybrid and the Nissan Leaf and +. Many driving impressions: Ferrari F8 Tributo, Audi Q3 Sportback, Kia XCeed, Skoda Kamiq, Opel Astra and Fiat 500X Sport.

Q Electric. The section dedicated to zero emissions returns with news, previews, car news and road tests of battery-powered models. In this issue we test the Leaf e +: the update of the Japanese sedan introduces an improved powertrain in which the 62 kWh battery stands out, able to guarantee an increase in performance and, above all, in autonomy. Impossible, then, not to delve into the contents of the Volkswagen ID.3: according to the manufacturer, the alphanumeric abbreviation is the access code to the zero-emissions era, the democratization tool for “carbon-free” mobility. The first electric for all, as Wolfsburg describes it, has been analyzed in terms of mechanics, equipment, battery cuts, autonomy and first prices: will it be able to take up the baton of the Beetle and Golf and (de) motorize Europe? The picture of the German brand is completed with an exclusive interview with CEO Herbert Diess, who lists the objectives and eco-strategies for the next few years. Then the Cupra Tavascan is striking, the prototype that anticipates the electric of the newborn brand: we talked about it with the head of the style Alejandro Mesonero. The Q Electric in October also includes a foray into space with the Audi AI: Trail concept, driving impressions from the Mazda e-TPV and the highly ambitious Porsche Taycan, set to become the queen of performance electric. In addition to the first contact, the pages dedicated to the supercar include a detailed analysis of all its technical characteristics.

News and inquiries. There new sting on driving licenses is the hot topic of the October issue. The survey in the field, with the comparison of the rates applied by driving schools, highlights the net generalized increases, generated by the European Court ruling adopted by the Revenue which requires the application of VAT at 22% on driving lessons and the didactics in general (in some cases, the increase is even higher). These increases insist on the – already high – costs incurred by the student to get to take the exam: at the moment, only in a few cases 1,000 euros are enough to complete the course. The news section also deals with the issue of road safety and in particular road safety guardrail killerIn fact, there are more and more fatal accidents caused by barriers which, without impact attenuators, are transformed into deadly blades for cars and especially for motorists, a dramatic consequence of the poor maintenance of our roads. Finally, a survey on online purchases of new cars: do they really pay off?

Previews and self-reports. Two icons are renewed. The Land Rover Defender, a true legend on wheels, changes style and substance for the first time in seventy years: contemporary bodywork and architecture and – hold on tight – load-bearing body. The other, the Nissan Juke, mother of the anti-conventional urban crossovers, after having built an unmistakable image in a few years, is undergoing the test of the second generation. And then fascinating concepts and solid production models exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show, as well as, in preview, the probable appearance and contents of the next Peugeot 308, which promises a further leap in the cockpit and in the technological equipment.

Buyer’s guide 2019. The essential vademecum to find your way around the cars on sale in Italy: 48 brands, 416 models, 6,300 set-ups, all collected in 360 pages. But that’s not all: there are also 210 sprint tests, with the main surveys from the Quattroruote Center.
