Exterior design: an athletic SUV

The new Renault Austral combines the distinctive elements of SUV models with Renault’s new “sensual tech” design principles: its curved and sensual silhouette elegantly matches strong geometric lines and structural details such as LED taillights with micro-optical technology and diamond pattern integrated in the blocks optical front.

The model exudes an increased sense of quality, reinforced by carefully marked geometric lines, and boasts ideal proportions that convey a sense of space when viewed from the outside.

The new Austral comes in seven body colors. The Esprit Alpine version also features an exclusive color, Satin Shale Gray, which helps accentuate its athletic look.

Top-level equipment includes a two-tone finish as a standard feature.

The vehicle also makes its presence felt through the imposing wheels, with distinctive rims of 17 to 20 inches, mostly diamond. All display the new Renault matte aluminum logo in the center.

Interior design: a space full of technology

The high-tech cockpit of the New Renault Austral is built around the OpenR screen that combines the 12.3-inch instrument cluster display with the 12-inch vertical multimedia display. The new 9.3-inch Head Up Display, designed on the windshield, adds to the total number of screens available on board.

The self-adjusting brightness and optimized reflective qualities made it impossible to need the extra protection visor of the dashboard, thus freeing up space and giving the whole a very modern floating effect.

The new Austral also has a high comfort center console. Elegant and with a modern style, it creates a subtle division of the space between the driver and the front passenger. It also features a streamlined armrest that makes using the multimedia screen more comfortable. The armrest includes a phone slot with the possibility of induction charging and convenient daily storage.

Depending on the version and options chosen, the interior of the New Austral is provided with genuine wood, leather, Alcantara, foamy fabric, pleasant to the touch upholstery and lacquered decorations in Black Grand Brillant and Satin Chrome. Gratifying and quality materials that give warmth and refinement to the cabin.

The complete package is enhanced by the addition of the customizable lighting system known as LIVING LIGHTS.

Platform and engines: less CO2 emissions, more joy

New platform, new performance

The new Austral is the first Renault model to benefit from all that the Alliance’s new CMF-CD platform has to offer. The new CMF-CD platform announces a complete overhaul of the characteristic lines of compact and high-end segments for the Alliance’s international brands.

The new Austral chassis comes in two versions: the flexible torsion beam for two-wheel drive models and a 4CONTROL Advanced multi-arm rear axle for four-wheel drive.

In the four-wheel drive version, the turning diameter is only 10.1 meters, for maneuverability in the city comparable to that of an urban vehicle. We are talking about the third generation of this 4CONTROL system, which has been constantly improved since its creation fifteen years ago and is still unmatched.

The body of the New Austral is more rigid, the anti-roll system has been improved, and the chassis is lighter, but also more robust, for the best comfort / efficiency / reactivity ratio on the market.

The best engines in terms of efficiency and emissions

The new Renault Austral benefits from a range of innovative engines with a new generation of E-TECH Hybrid system on a 400 V network and developing up to 200 hp, as well as two other petrol engines: a Mild Hybrid Advanced 48V with 130 hp and a Mild Hybrid 12V of 140 and 160 hp.

The new Renault Austral: more than a car, a real service

The “Nouvelle Vague” Renault techno SUV, the New Austral, embodies a generation of intelligent, adaptable and flexible vehicles.

Thanks to data from cloud-based maps and the vehicle’s artificial intelligence, driving assistance systems actively connected to the New Austral are becoming predictive.

The new Austral makes its users’ lives even easier thanks to its new connected maintenance service.

Connected to the My Renault platform, it offers practical solutions for remote verification and guidance. Private owners and professional users alike benefit from a full range of services through which some functions can be controlled and certain vehicle data can be accessed remotely.

Unveiled in a digital world premiere on March 8, the new Renault Austral will go on sale in the last quarter of 2022.
