1000 Miglia 2022: the dates, the route, the cars.

For the second consecutive year the 1000 Miles 2022 re-ignites the engines at the gates of summer. From today to Saturday 18 June, 425 cars extraordinary will revive the myth of the Red Arrow on the roads of Italy crossing about 250 municipalities for almost 2000 kilometers in four days.

L’2022 edition crosses the finish line of the forty re-enactments: from the two every five years in 1977 and 1982, to the biennial of 1984 up to the annual ones from 1986 to today. Among the novelties of 2022 the return of the Paddock to Brixia Forum in via Caprera. After the change of location in 2021, due to the setting up of the city’s vaccination hub, the technical checks will take place again in the pavilions of the Fair.

After two years of absence, the Roberto Gaburri Trophy, a real sporting prologue to the 1000 Miglia. Instead, the appointment with the Ferrari Tribute, the review of models from Cavallino Rampantand, with the 1000 Miglia Experience, the format dedicated to modern supercars, and the 1000 Miglia Green, the regularity race for models with alternative fuel.

On a sporting level, eyes are on the reigning champion. Andrea Vesco, winner in 2020 and 2021, is called to dispel the taboo of “there is no two without three”. In fact, in thirty-nine re-enactments, only Giuliano Canè managed to triumph three times in a row, from 1998 to 2000. From Luciano Viaro, “stopped” by Bruno Ferrari after the successes of 2007 and 2008, to Vesco himself, who in 2019 surrendered to Juan Tonconogy after the victories in 2017 and 2018, no one has been able to hit the trio anymore.
