Ducati Streetfighter V2: engine and features

Ducati Streetfighter V2: the new Storm Green livery

Ducati Streetfighter V2 comes with a new Storm Green color. Metallic green enhances the Streetfighter V2’s clean, sharp and essential lines, reinforcing the bike’s unique character and innate attention-grabbing ability. The matt finish is perfectly combined with the chromatic context of the mechanical part, while the metallic grain creates a very evident play of contrasts on the different surfaces.

Ducati Streetfighter V2: design

Ducati Streetfighter V2

The Streetfighter V2 is essential and characterized by an edgy design, which incorporates the main stylistic elements of the Streetfighter V4, starting with the distinctive front headlight, which recalls the V signature of the DRL typical of Ducati sports cars and is inspired by the famous expression of the Joker.

The ergonomics of the Streetfighter V2 focuses on the rider and is focused on road use with the right mix of sportiness and comfort. The high and wide aluminum handlebar replaces the half-handlebars of the Panigale V2. The saddle is wider and has new padding that makes it more comfortable, while the footpegs have been repositioned to increase comfort. The driving position resulting from these changes allows the driver a good control in sporty driving, but at the same time not to tire in everyday use.

Ducati Streetfighter V2: engine

The Streetfighter V2’s engine is the Superquadro of 955 cm³, compliant with the Euro 5 standard, capable of delivering a maximum power of 153 HP at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 101.4 Nm at 9,000 rpm. This engine is very flexible: usable and enjoyable on the road, but also effective on the track, where it is always easy to manage. Compared to the Panigale V2, the Streetfighter V2 has a shorter final ratio (15/45 vs 15/43), which guarantees greater torque to the wheel at road speeds, giving better engine readiness when reopening the throttle.

In the development stages of this new model, the engineers focused particularly on the chassis. The Superquadro engine is used as a structural element and the compact front structure is connected to it, consisting of a monocoque frame in die-cast aluminum fixed to the engine head. The rear single-sided swingarm is also connected to the engine, which is 16 mm longer than that of the Panigale V2 to ensure the stability of the bike without the fairings.

To this base are added the 43 mm Showa BPF front fork and the Sachs shock absorber with dedicated calibration to make the bike more comfortable on the road, but at the same time easily settable for riding on the track.

Ducati Streetfighter V2: characteristics

Ducati Streetfighter V2

The Streetfighter V2 is fitted with 5-spoke wheels and the new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires in the sizes 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 180/60 ZR17 at the rear, which provide a quick response to the driver’s impulses and excellent cornering feeling. The braking system is the same as that of the Panigale V2, equipped with Brembo M4.32 monobloc calipers with 320 mm diameter discs, except for the choice of less aggressive pads and therefore more suitable for road use.

The complete and modern electronic equipment that equips the Streetfighter V2 is inherited from the Panigale V2. The six-axis IMU inertial platform supervises all the electronic controls of the bike and measures its position in space in real time, sending the information to the control units that manage the controls. The electronic package includes: ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control Evo 2, Ducati Wheelie Control Evo, Ducati Quick Shift up / down Evo 2, Engine Brake Control Evo.

The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with three Riding Modes (Sport, Road, Wet) with dedicated control settings. The electronic equipment can be enriched by the accessories contained in the Ducati Performance catalog, such as the Ducati Multimedia System which allows the connection of the smartphone or the Ducati Data Analyzer for the collection and subsequent analysis of driving data.

The bike is equipped with full-Led headlights with front DRL and a 4.3 ”color TFT dashboard with an intuitive interface that recalls the family-feeling of the Streetfighter V4. The Streetfighter V2 in the new Storm Green colorway with black rims and red tags joins the sporty version in Ducati Red. The Ducati Performance catalog contains various accessories designed to enhance the look and performance of the new Streetfighter V2.
